1118-7 Zao Onsen, Yamagata-shi, Yamagata 990-2301

The hotel strikes a bold figure in the Zao landscape, and, being the tallest building in the area, is subject to some of the best views you're going to get of the pristine landscape surrounding it. Situated right across from the Zao Ropeway and the ski lifts, it's also in an ideal position for ski enthusiasts and features a wide range of entertainment for the whole family.

The hotel features a range of rooms, each decorated beautifully and fitted with all essential amenities for comfort and entertainment. There are both western and Japanese style rooms available as well as a select few deluxe rooms on the upper levels that boast stunning views and open-air baths for guests. Of course, each room in the hotel has its own beautiful views, but it doesn't get much better than the top floor.

A private indoor onsen makes relaxation easy and, paired with a sauna and in-house day spa makes for an ideal day of relaxation. There is also a large indoor swimming pool for guests to use at their leisure. The hotel is situated only a five-minute walk from the centre of town, meaning the entire area's activities are also open to guests easily.

For the foodies of the family, the hotel features a large and beautifully decorate restaurant that serves both breakfast and dinner each day. The breakfast options are a little wider - a buffet is served with a huge range of western and Japanese dishes available while the dinner options are from a set menu featuring mainly traditional and delicious Japanese dishes.

The hotel makes use of its prime position and, of course, offers ski equipment rental services and drying/storage space for guests as well as a range of extra facilities - a tennis court and pool in summer, karaoke room and conference/banquet rooms are all available for guests to make use of should they need. To top it all off, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and will go the extra mile to make sure your stay is as fantastic as you'd expected.

Japanese Western Room

Tastefully mixing traditional Japanese design and cultural elements with the western comforts travellers want, these rooms are ideal for those who like a little extra floor space and room to move. The room features twin single bedding mattresses on tatami flooring as well as a large traditional Japanese dining space.

The room's biggest attraction, though, is the beautiful design - natural timbers have been used throughout the room to create authenticity and deep, dark colours create a warmth and intimacy that is expected in such rooms.
